VIPMA Digging for gold near Victoria BC

Описание: This video is about panning for placer gold on the VIPMA claims near Sooke BC. The Vancouver Island Placer Mining Association holds a number of claims on rivers north and west of Victoria BC, near Sooke. It's an old historic gold area that still recovers the occasional small nugget or flake after a lot of hard work. Members get access to private surface lands and come from all walks of life and backgrounds. The rivers are pristine, fairly safe, and the only equipment needed are pans, shovels, a strong back and much patience! This video shows some of the members on a typical outing, digging, panning, and enjoying the incredible country. A Phantom quadcopter was used for the aerial shots with a GoPro3, the same camera was also used for the underwater shots.
