🦑 The ROV team helped the AKMA project discover new species as well as a mud volcano in the Barents Sea in May 2023. This was ROV Aurora's fourth mission to date. 💪
In this video, Leighton Rolley and Stig Vågenes give an overview of Aurora's capabilities and show how the ROV is used for sampling and filming in the deep sea.
The AKMA 3 (Advancing Knowledge on Methane in the Arctic) cruise focused on examining changing ocean conditions and the physical, biological, and chemical response of extreme environments such as methane and oil seeps.
