Flight UA7 from Houston to Tokyo Narita on my way from São Paulo to Shanghai on N77019, a Boeing 777-200ER delivered to Continental Airlines in 2007. This plane is equipped with two GE90-92B engines.
This is a 13h27min flight. Although we flew above some amazing places, this flight was quite tiresome for me because it was the second long-haul flight in a row (GRU-IAH, 10 hours + 5 hours layover), it was a daytime flight and we crossed 15 time zones.

After some hours we'll be flying very close to the Arctic Circle.
I'm a big fan of polar routes
I've flown several times above Greenland and Northeastern Canada

Today it'll be my first time above Yukon (Northwestern Canada),
Alaska and Siberia. The landscapes in those areas are truly amazing.
This is a daylight flight. The crew members asked to close the window shades to allow people to sleep.

We are close to the Yukon, the Westernmost Province of Canada. The Yukon, is wild, mountainous and sparsely populated. Kluane National Park and Reserve includes Mount Logan, Canada’s highest peak, as well as glaciers, trails and the Alsek River. In the far north is Ivvavik National Park, with protected calving grounds for Porcupine caribou. In the south are numerous glacier-fed alpine lakes, including boldly colored Emerald Lake. This place is amazing. It reminds me of Greenland. This is why I'm a big fan of polar flights. The view is extremely relaxing. These places are perfect to see the aurora borealis (northern lights).We are not far from the Arctic Circle.
The sky in Alaska was overcast. I was also extremely tired after more than 24 hours traveling and have to take a nap.
The Bering Strait (Берингов пролив), a strait of the Pacific, which separates Russia and the United States slightly south of the Arctic Circle.
Wales, in Alaska. Wales is a city in the Nome Census Area. At the 2010 census the population was 145, down from 152 in 2000. It is the westernmost city within the mainland United States. The Strait has been the subject of the scientific hypothesis that humans migrated from Asia to North America across a land bridge known as Beringia when lower ocean levels

After crossing the Kamchatka Peninsula, north of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, we are now flying over Sakhalin, the largest island of the Russian Federation

Descending towards Tokyo-Narita Airport
United has many daily flights to Narita from several US cities. I've even seen a United B737-800. United has a fleet of 737s operating from Guam to Japan and other Asian destinations.
United's Guam hub is an important part of their network, offering nonstop flights to and from four cities in Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka) as well as to and from Hong Kong and Manila.
Within Micronesia, United offers service to and from nine destinations, including Palau and Saipan.
I wish I could've stayed some days in Japan, but I couldn't change my ticket.
After landing at NRT I had to wait for 4 hours until my next 3 hours and 20 minutes flight to Shanghai in a ANA Boeing 767. At this time, I had already been traveling for 29+ hours.
After leaving Houston at around 10:30 am, we landed at Tokyo-Narita at around 2 pm the following day.
