The National Park Service has embarked on an $8.2 million project to repair and replace the damaged parts of the Jefferson Memorial roof. The Post was granted access of the detailed construction.
The 32,000-ton memorial, which honors the nation’s third president and main author of the Declaration of Independence, houses a 19-foot bronze statue of Jefferson.
