India Slams Pakistan’s Remarks on Waqf Law as 'Baseless and Hypocritical'

Описание: India firmly rejected Pakistan’s criticism of the Waqf (Amendment) Act on Tuesday, calling the remarks “motivated and baseless.” Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said Pakistan has no locus standi to comment on India’s internal matters and should instead focus on its own poor record of minority rights protection. The response came after Pakistan alleged the law infringes on the religious and economic rights of Indian Muslims, claiming it could lead to further marginalisation. India defended the law as a sovereign decision passed by its Parliament.
