बांग्लादेश में गुरुवार को 300 संसदीय सीटों के लिए होने वाले 13वें आम चुनाव के लिए सोमवार को चुनाव प्रचार थम गया। हिंसा, अराजकता और अल्पसंख्यकों में भारी डर के माहौल बीच हो रहा बांग्लादेश का यह चुनावों दो कारणों से ऐतिहासिक माना जा रहा है। बांग्लादेश के इतिहास में यह पहला मौका है जबकि पूर्व पीएम शेख हसीना की पार्टी अवामी लीग को चुनाव लड़ने की अनुमति नहीं दी गई है। देश की अंतरिम सरकार ने सत्ता से बेदखल अवामी लीग की राजनीतिक गतिविधियों पर पाबंदी लगा दी है। इसके साथ ही चुनाव आयोग ने पार्टी का पंजीकरण भी रद्द कर दिया है।
