A demonstration of a medium-pitched "groaning" noise coming from the Chugger Pump recirculating 3 gallons of 125F water that is not heard at lower water temps. The "groan" is distinct from the "squeal" heard when the pump runs dry; additionally, although the pump is groaning, the output flow is not noticeably different than at lower temperatures without the groan.
Please see Part 1 ( • Chugger Pump - Noise During Operation Part... ) for a more detailed description of this demonstration.

Epilogue: Although it took Chugger Pumps (www.chuggerpumps.com) about a week to respond to my inquiry submitted through the "Problems" page on their website (which might have been my fall because I didn't check the 'Urgent' box), once we began to correspond via email, Danny at Chugger was quick to respond. We traded emails, videos and photos over two days that resulted in him sending a new impeller and thrust washers. It is believed that the rattle is coming from the impeller moving laterally along the spindle due to wear in either a thrust washer or the impeller -- hopefully this will be confirmed (and rectified) once the new impeller and washers are installed. I will update with results after the replacement parts are installed.
