I've had a lot of requests for the 62MAS, so here is my interpretation of the reimagined classic 60's masterpiece.
It's a strikingly handsome watch, the Seiko PROSPEX SPB143J1 Dial with its sunburst texture is truly stunning, and the lume is pretty strong too.
The 40mm 316L stainless steel case is a nice size and wears well with the undercut edges.
The coin edge bezel is fitted with a ceramic bezel, rather than the steel one in the production version, so no more crying yourself to sleep when you scratch it, you will not scratch a ceramic one!
The caseback is a slim sterile, and makes the watch very comfortable.
Then we have a double-domed sapphire crystal with blue anti-reflective coating on the underside, you won't scratch this either.
The hands are brushed 62MAS style, and the lume on these is phenomenal! In all honesty, they are a little bit brighter than the dial lume, not by much though.
I've used Seiko's NH35A Automatic movement for the build, it's more or less the same as the 62MAS movement, just has a 41 hour power reserve, rather than the 72 hour in the 62MAS.
It's currently on a 'Tropic' style strap which is fitted with a Seiko buckle and keeper, but you can fit it with any 20mm strap you like!

The watch has pressure tested to 200m and the movement regulated to be very accurate.

So, to sum up, it's basically a 62MAS at way under half the price, and all you're sacrificing is 31 hours of power reserve, I'll take 41 hours of power reserve to wear this beautiful watch every day, so I wouldn't need 72 hours anyway.
