Christian McCaffery Spring Practice One on One
Stanford Football gets back into the swing of things with the first session of spring practices taking place. Running back Christian McCaffery returns to a crowded backfield for his sophomore season.
The Colorado native was fifth on the team in rushing last season, but showed his versatility in the passing game with 251 receiving yards and two touchdowns. McCaffery also showcased his talents on special teams with over 300 yards in punt and kickoff returns as well as seven tackles.
As a star player in high school, Christian says it’s his teammates he has to thank for preparing him for the college transition. “It’s the guys in the locker room that really get you going, that really prepare you for this level, because it’s definitely different,” says McCaffery.
Looking forward, McCaffery is hoping the teams momentum from last season will carry over, “I love our energy and I love our intensity and I think we are way ahead of where we were last year.”
The Cardinal will have another spring practice session in April before they take to the field April 11th for their spring scrimmage game.
