MOASC's Clinical Webinar on Challenging Cases in Metastatic Breast Cancer was held on April 30, 2025. Moderated by Ashkan Lashkari, MD, President of MOASC and practicing oncologist at Wellness Oncology. Expert panelists included Dr. Rebecca Shatsky from UC San Diego and Dr. Aditya Bardia from UCLA.
The meeting focused on challenging cases in metastatic breast cancer, with discussions on integrating molecular testing, managing different subtypes, and treatment options. They also explored the role of the Pi 3 Kinase pathway in endocrine-resistant disease, the use of Pi 3 kinase inhibitors, and the treatment of patients with coexisting ESR1 and Pik 3 Ca mutations. Additionally, they discussed the transition of patients from endocrine therapy to chemotherapy, the use of T-DXd in treating brain metastases, and treatment approaches for HER2-positive and triple-negative breast cancer.
