In this Office Hours Q/A session, we discuss a new security feature that has been added to Kubernetes service accounts on EKS. This feature simplifies role and permission management directly for pods, similar to using EC2 role instances. However, Amazon's documentation is currently inconsistent, leading to some chaos for users. Despite these challenges and the complexity of IRSA, this new model is likely to become the standard approach in the future.
