This project was more than a roof—it was a tribute.

We had the honor of serving Mrs. Marilyn King, beloved wife of the late Lt. Col. John B. King, U.S. Air Force (Ret.), whose name proudly lives on as John King Boulevard here in Rockwall, Texas.

Lt. Col. King was a decorated Vietnam veteran and pilot, logging over 6,000 flight hours and earning the Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 23 Oak Leaf Clusters, and more. Beyond his military service, he dedicated himself to our Rockwall community as a City Council member and leader. He ultimately passed due to Agent Orange exposure—a reminder of the sacrifices that never truly end.

Mrs. King continues his legacy of service. Recognized as a Rockwall Hometown Hero in 2021, she has spent decades uplifting others through the YMCA, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and Constitution Day education efforts.

Her new roof features the IKO Nordic Class 4 Drift Shake shingles, perfectly matched to her stone home. It was a privilege to bring her peace of mind and honor her late husband’s service with every step of the project.
