Formica are one of our favourite species to keep. They have a reputation for being difficult to raise and this is not without good reason, historically their acid is used when they are stressed or alarmed and this can cause a colony to perish. However, with care, substrate and lots of food they can grow to be one of the best colonies you will keep. Active, fun and great to enjoy.
