Upcoming retirees routinely ask the question: how do I get the most from Social Security? This video discusses why you need 35 years of work history to maximize your Social Security benefits. I simplify (not so simple) Social Security math so that anyone can see the dramatic effect each year of work has on your social security payment, noting that the SSA caps your “contribution history” to your best 35 years.
The important thing to note is that you don't need to earn "top quartile" income during your working years to get a "top quartile" Social Security payment. This will rank (in my humble opinion) as one of the most important videos anyone can watch to get the most from Social Security.
