Leopard Spotted-goby and European Lobster - Thorogobius ephippiatus and Homarus gammarus

Описание: During this dive I came across a strange pair of Mediterranean marine specimens. It is a European Lobster, Homarus gammarus, and a Leopard-spotted goby that share the same cave; evidently there is a mutual convenience to which I cannot give a logical explanation. In fact, the European Lobster usually lives alone in the den that it has built and, in general, does not tolerate intrusions by others. As you can see from the video, there is a certain peaceful coexistence between the two and this leads to think that the Leopard-spotted goby has been there for a long time and that a long-term symbiotic interaction has been established between them, probably linked to the search for food and different diets, but which is not in competition with each other but rather mutualistic.

Durante questa immersione mi sono imbattuto in una strana coppia di esemplari marini del Mediterraneo. Si tratta di un Astice europeo, Homarus gammarus, e di un Ghiozzo Leopardo che condividono la stessa grotta; evidentemente vi è una reciproca convenienza alla quale non riesco a dare una spiegazione logica. L’Astice infatti di solito vive solitario nella tana che si è costruito e, in genere, non tollera intrusioni di altri. Come potete capire dal video vi è una certa pacifica convivenza tra i due e questo porta a pensare che il Ghiozzo si trova lì da molto tempo e che si sia stabilita tra di loro interazione simbiotica di lungo periodo probabilmente legata alla ricerca del cibo e alla diversa alimentazione, ma che non è tra loro in competizione bensì mutualistica.
