Make a mess in the ultimate mess-fest! Splatter enemies and claim your turf as the ink-spewing, squid-like characters called Inklings in Nintendo's new third-person action shooter exclusively for the WiiU console. Challenge players online in chaotic 4-on-4 turf wars and unleash squid powers to ink your way to victory. No time to blink, prepare to ink!

Features:
Team up in fierce 4 vs. 4 online turf wars to cover arenas with as much ink as possible and use the WiiU Gamepad controller for quick-travel by tapping locations or teammates on the touch screen.

Transform into a squid to travel at super speed, refill ink tanks, hide from opponents or climb up walls to access hard-to-reach areas, and dive into your team's color ink with the tap of a button.
Infiltrate the headquarters of the archrival octopus army and recover the stolen electric catfish in a wild single-player adventure.

Tackle tricky levels full of clever devices and contraptions.
Compete in 1-on-1 local multiplayer Battle Dojo mode, where one player plays on the WiiU GamePad Controller, while the other one plays on the TV using a separate controller.

Reach level 10 in online turf wars to compete in online ranked battles, a mode that brings together skiled players who are serious about tracking wins and losses to improve their online rank. This mode will open up once enough global players reach this level.

Spend in-game coins earned through playing online battles to obtain different Inkling styles and firepower at the shopping mall. Gear up with different weapons sets (that consist of a main weapon, sub weapon, and special weapon), headgear, clothes and shoes. Some gear you equip will even boost your stats.

Select between multiple control options on the WiiU GamePad controller, including using gyroscopic controls for pinpoint aiming and intuitive controls. You can also use just the L and R sticks to look around if you prefer a more traditional control scheme.

Tap in a Splatoon series amiibo figure to access new challenges. Complete them to get exclusive in-game gear for your inkling! Compatible amiibo include: Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy, and Inkling Squid (Inkling Squid is available only in the 3-figure set, sold separately).
