The Air Jordan 5 “Fire Red” is officially back for its 35th anniversary — and Jordan Brand is bringing the heat once again! Originally released in 1990, the AJ5 was designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield, taking inspiration from Michael Jordan’s fierce, attacking style and WWII fighter planes the source of that iconic shark-tooth midsole design.

With its reflective details, mesh netting, and bold Chicago Bulls-inspired colorway, the Fire Red 5 quickly became one of the most beloved OG Jordans of all time. The sneaker dropped just before MJ claimed his first NBA Championship, perfectly capturing his rise to greatness.

For 2025, the Fire Red 5 returns with a black tongue, red midsole accents, and all the classic details that made it legendary. Following this year’s return of the “Grape” 5 and the Awake NY x Jordan 5 “Bubble Gum”, Jordan Brand is closing out the year strong.
