"Anima Messorem" (Super Mario '93 Remake) is a fan-made horror-remake game created by Delta Works, then published for the first time on Game Jolt on October 12, 2022. The sprites used in this game were made by: OmegaZero3, Drafex14, jamieman & the guys who're the beta testers for this game are: Gtewie Sriffin, Eggeloper & Ómicron. The game begins with a disturbing image of an entity that looks just like Mario, welcoming you to his hell & telling you that he is Crimson Hunter & you're his prey now. After that, the image will cut to the title-screen, where after pressing start, we'll be shown the inputs/controls of this game. The first level in this game is good-old Overworld level, where we get to stomp on enemies like Goombas & Koopas, collect coins & even power-ups such as Mushrooms & Fire Flowers to burn our enemies with. After progressing a short distance in this level, the screen will suddenly go black & another creepy image of Crimson Hunter will slowly fade in, who the proceeds to jumpscare you. After that, the screen will go back to normal, to the level, except now it's suddenly night out there. The pits are now filled with lava & some bushes are purple. When you reach the end of the level, you'll notice that the flag is gone and the castle has been destroyed. There are also lots of human skulls spread in the area as well as half-eaten Goombas & the grass around here is purple. After taking a few steps further, Luigi will froze with fear because he now finally saw Crimson Hunter, who's using his large tongue to grab, then his sharp theet to eat a Goomba alive in a gruesome manner. Crimson Hunter can be described as a bigger and broader, almost hulking version of Mario, who has yellow-glowing eyes, yellow sharp theet & a large cut on his stomach. At this point, you gotta choose which path you're taking to run away from Crimson Hunter, before he catches you & eats you alive. This monster will destroy everything in his path to catch you & kill you & he can also jump to try to land on you and crush you. If you choose the left path, at the beginning of the level, you'll find a white door that if you enter it, the screen will again go black & then a few seconds later, a gruesome image of Crimson Hunter's skull with pieces of flesh on it will fade in. After that, you'll be taken to the second level, the cave where you gotta stop moving from time to time so Crimson Hunter won't hear your footsteps, then find you kill you. On your way, you'll encounter orange Piranha Plants & Red Koopas. At the end of the cave, you'll meet Crimson who for some reason is now all red, who'll proceed to kill you by beheading & the first ending of this game will occur. If you take the right path, you'll encounter skeleton hands that will try to grab you & crush you like a strawberry & purple bushes that are corrupted & can kill you instantly if you touch them. After escaping once again, you'll end up in another cave, this one being darker & you can hear screams of pain in the background. Later on, you'll find zoombie Koopas & Goombas & Podoboos jumping out from lava pits & at the end of this level, you'll find corrupted Bowser, who'll kill you & so the game ends!
