MCCE is a minimally invasive, sedation-free alternative to conventional gastroscopy, delivering external magnetic control of an ingestible pill-sized video camera to thoroughly visualize the stomach. This diagnostic option is ideally suited for patients presenting with symptoms considered functional in origin and without alarm symptoms who have a low pretest probability of significant pathology.
