On Saturday, July 5, 2025, at about 2:50 a.m., deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of Limonite Avenue and Beach Street, Jurupa Valley, regarding an unknown-injury traffic collision. When deputies arrived at the scene, they located two vehicles blocking the eastbound lanes of Limonite Avenue, west of Beach Street.
One of the involved vehicles, a van, had several unrestrained passengers at the time of the collision. Two passengers from the van had obvious signs of trauma and were pronounced deceased at the scene. Both drivers, along with additional passengers from the van, were transported from the scene to local hospitals with injuries.
The Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. At the conclusion of the on-scene investigation, the driver of the van, Bryan Cruz-Arenas, a 23-year-old resident of Jurupa Valley, was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and one count of driving under the influence causing death/injury. The identities of the two deceased passengers will not be released at this time, pending notification to the next of kin.
The collision investigation required the temporary closure of Limonite Avenue, between Bain Street and Beach Street, to process the scene and collect evidence until approximately 11:55 a.m. This is an ongoing investigation, and no further details are available at this time.
Anyone who witnessed the traffic collision or has any information about this incident is encouraged to call Deputy Linfoot of the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station at (951) 955–2600 or the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office dispatch at (951) 776–1099.
