Ampharos was introduced in generation 2 of Pokemon [Gold, Silver, Crystal]. Despite being a steel type gym leader, Jasmine is shown caring for an Ampharos in both the games and the anime. But despite its glowing tail, it's incompatible with the move Tail Glow, which was added to the game in generation 3 [Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald]
