A variety of ground treatment methods have been developed over the past several decades to aid in the construction of underground infrastructure projects. Concerns over ground loss, settlements, groundwater intrusion, unstable soils, and building movements can all be controlled or mitigated using specialized grouts and grouting techniques. The presentation will focus on the different grouting methods used for two Metro projects in California: San Francisco Central Subway and Los Angeles Crenshaw Corridor and how they were successfully used to address their specific project conditions.
