Shaun McCrindle is no stranger to the Narrowboat Sessions but this was his very first solo set. Unfortunately he had to travel up from where we were meant to meet him in his home town of Bristol as we were trapped at Ellesmere Port by a breach in the canal. He'd wanted to bring his band The Goldfinches with him this time but sadly the change in location made it impossible for them all to get time off. Never mind, we have that to look forward to in the future. Anyway, his second beautiful song for us was his lovely 'Queen of New York', based on scenes from 1970's NYC, inspired by Debbie Harry's memoir Face It!
