Welcome to our special edition: Viking field kitchen feast ! With rustic ingredients and traditional methods, Nick @oldmaninthewood (on his weekend of @escapetoruralfrance;)and I, we'll show you how to create a delicious viking feast that could have been enjoyed in Viking times.
For a traditional Viking meal, we prepared a lamb stew, which can be made by simmering lamb with root vegetables, onions turnips, violet carrot and most importantly, the red cabbage. I seasoned with herbs from my garden, thyme and bay leaves. I shared with you my way to make homemade broth with a twist, the Marrow bone , that gives a unique flavor and natural grease.
Last but not least, Lady Marmalade with different berries, the sweet and sorrow, traditionally made in viking cuisine, along with our beverage, amplifies the taste and upgrades the dish.
Cooking prime rib can be straightforward and rewarding, especially with the right techniques. To achieve a delicious prime rib, start by letting the meat whole pepper and garlic. If you wish you can add herbs like rosemary and thyme. For cooking, we perapred a nice fire and roast the prime rib for 20 minutes to develop a crust, then we transferred to a reduced fire and continued cooking until the desired internal temperature is reached we looked for à point "on point" .You can use a meat thermometer, I use my eye and timing:)
Our dessert, apple fritters withe a twist: it can be made by mixing apples with a batter (eggs and flour a little water ) and frying them, (you could add nuts, almonds) and sweetened with truffled honey ...
Our Viking beverage: Hydromel, honey mead
