"Es war einmal zur schönen Maienzeit!" [Once Upon the Beautiful May-Time] is a German song from 1933, about the memory of a romance during the most beautiful month of the year, May! It originally had three strophes, the 1st one was recorded here. Some parts of the lyrics were later rewritten by Niel's main publisher, Karl Wilke, and published in 1935.
