PHO Learning Exchange: Managing iGAS Outbreaks in Congregate Living Settings

Описание: This PHO Learning Exchange focuses on sharing experiences and response strategies for managing invasive Group A Streptococcal Disease (iGAS) outbreaks in congregate living settings (CLS). Halton and Southeast Public Health Units will share their experiences and insights from managing iGAS outbreaks in a correctional facility and long-term care setting and identify challenges encountered and lessons learned. . Specific focuses include surveillance and screening protocols, laboratory testing processes, chemoprophylaxis assessment and recommendations, infection prevention and control (IPAC) practices, and emerging priorities for future case, contact and outbreak management strategies.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

• Describe examples, unique response strategies, and common challenges in managing complex iGAS outbreaks in CLS.
• Identify jurisdiction-specific guidance and resources on iGAS management practices.
• Apply iGAS management practices to future case and contact and outbreak management strategies.
