Meaning:
Dash Mahavidyas are ten tantric manifestations of the Divine Mother (Aadi Parashakti), Who bestow Happiness, Joy and Auspiciousness.

Dash Mahavidyas are Consorts of Lord Mahesh (Mahakaal Shiv) and worshiped by Him.

We bow to You, O Mother of the Universe and Slayer of the demon Shumbh.

Dash Mahavidya Forms of Devi Durga, bestow all perfections.

Dash Mahavidyas are Eternal and devoid of impermanent qualities.

They are Virtuous, the devoid of Virtues, the Meditative, the Worshipable,

Dash Mahavidyas viz. Kaali, Taara, Shodashi (Tripur Sundari), Bhuvaneshwari Bhairavi, Chhinnamasta, Ghoomavati, Bagalamukhi, Maatangi and Kamala, embodied and personified in Mother Sai are the Bestowers of Accomplishments, Perfections, Health, Wealth, Prosperity, Divine Knowledge, Joy, Fulfilments, Attainments and Bliss.

About Dash Mahavidya

The Dash Mahavidya are ten tantric manifestations of the Divine Mother (Aadi Parashakti) in Hinduism, representing distinct aspects of Cosmic Knowledge, Power, and Spiritual Transformation, ranging from tender to terrifying. They are worshipped to overcome obstacles, attain worldly desires, and achieve liberation.

The ten Mahavidyas are:

1. Kaali:
The ultimate form of Brahman, Devourer of Time and Destroyer of Ego.

2. Tara:
The Goddess as Guide, Protector, and Saviour,
Who helps cross the ocean of existence.

3. Tripur Sundari (Shodashi):
The Goddess, Who is Beautiful in the Three Worlds,
representing Divine Harmony.

4. Bhuvaneshwari:
The World Mother, Whose body is the Cosmos.

5. Bhairavi:
The Fierce Goddess, representing fiery destruction and inner purification.

6. Chhinnamasta:
The self-decapitated Goddess symbolising
the breaking of ego and Kundalini Awakening.

7. Ghoomavati:
The Widow Goddess, representing the wisdom
found in loss and endings.

8. Bagalamukhi:
The Goddess, Who paralyses enemies and masters negativity.

9. Maatangi:
The ‘Tantric Saraswati,’ associated with inner truth and the arts.

10. Kamala:
The Goddess of Prosperity, Grace, and Beauty.

Key Aspects:

Origin:
According to the Shakta-Maha-Bhagavat Puraan, the Mahavidyas revealed themselves to Lord Shiv to allow Him to witness their power when he tried to stop Sati from attending Daksha's yagya.

Significance:
They are considered Personifications of the Entire Creation and guide seekers toward enlightenment.

Worship:
They are central to Tantric practices, involving the worship of Yantras and recitation of Stotrams to gain Siddhis, Wealth, and Health.
