World MTB Tour 1st week: Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Italy

This week we started our journey to ride around the world by mountainbike. We have now crossed the Alps once and made it to Italy, we will continue by riding through the Dolomites, dann crossing Slovenia, the Balkan, Greece, Turkey and Georgia and later on Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. After that the general plan is to ride through Southeast Asia, New Zealand and Peru. Travelling by mountain bike and choosing off-road paths makes us travel slow and our bodies are aching, but in our opinion it is worth it because we get to dive into the landscapes completely.

Since this route is planned with Komoot, we recommend to be flexible about the path depending on the tires you are using and the road or weather conditions. Europe is very well connected, so we are using our phones to find better alternatives when the trails are unsuitable for riding.
