I was staying overnight in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter after a motorbike ride from my home in Chester. The canal was right outside my hotel, so a run around a local section of Birmingham's complex network of canals was a great start to the day.
I join the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal near Snow Hill, go up the locks under the BT Tower to the junction with the BCN main line. The line heads towards Wolverhampton; I go round the Soho Loop, then back towards town along the other side of the main line (there are two towpaths in this section). A quick diversion to Brindleyplace, and then back to my hotel.
A lovely Sunday morning run!
