Panicked crowds shelter in Kyiv metro station as Russia rocks city with second air attack in one day

Описание: A metro station in central Kyiv was crowded with people on Monday (May 29) as panicked residents rushed to take cover from Russian air strikes on the Ukrainian capital.

Explosions rocked the center of Kyiv on Monday morning when Russia launched its 16th air attack on the Ukrainian capital this month, hours after unleashing dozens of missiles and drones overnight.

All the Russian missiles were shot down, but one person in the central Podil district was taken to hospital, authorities said. No major damage was reported.

Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko said there were explosions in the capital's central districts and that emergency services had been dispatched.

Yuriy Ihnat, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force, said the attack had been conducted with ballistic missiles - thought to be Iskanders - and possibly also S-300 and S-400 missiles.
