This is the HondaJet Echelon, the first transcontinental jet designed for single-pilot operation, making it the longest-range single-pilot business aircraft in the world. The aircraft is the production version of the groundbreaking 2600 Concept that was unveiled in 2021. Designed for the upper echelons of aviation, the newcomer promises high levels of comfort, performance, and efficiency, and it’s set to hit heights never before reached by a light jet, too.
The Echelon has a range of 2,625 nautical miles or 4,860 kilometers, making it capable of nonstop flight across the U.S. It can also reach a maximum cruising speed of 450 knots and an industry-leading flight ceiling of 47,000 feet, according to Honda. On top of that, the plane is 20% more efficient and releases fewer carbon emissions than the average light jet.
The base purchase price for a new HondaJet Echelon is in the $10 million to $12 milion range before options, and the charter price is estimated at $4,000 to $6,000 per hour. Naturally, prices will vary depending on availability, fuel prices, ground fees, and more.
While the annual fixed cost is estimated $400,000 to $600,000, the average hourly operating cost is estimated at $2,000 to $3,000.
