This 2007 Mazda RX-8 has been converted into a V8-powered, supercharged project car built strictly for track use. The factory rotary engine is gone, replaced with a 383-cubic-inch stroker V8 topped with a belt-driven supercharger that sits high enough to require a cut-out section in the hood. The blower scoop and exposed engine components make the powertrain the most visually dominant part of the car. The front bumper area has been modified to hold a pair of large cooling fans mounted directly behind the grille opening, and the front end shows cosmetic wear consistent with heavy use. The body retains its original RX-8 shape, headlights, mirrors, and basic exterior panels, though the paint shows scratches, chips, and patches of missing clear coat.
Because of the engine swap and the way the drivetrain is set up, the car is intended for racing rather than street duty. The cabin appears mostly stock from the outside view, with the original seats still in place. The stance and ride height remain close to factory, but the structural and mechanical changes indicate it’s been built around straight-line or track performance rather than daily usability. The car’s combination of a lightweight RX-8 chassis and a torque-heavy American V8 makes it a highly unconventional setup, with the supercharger providing significant airflow directly through the hood opening. As listed, it is a purpose-built race-track machine with major modifications to both the powertrain and front cooling system.
