This video is on the map Crunch in solo Endless mode and my objective was to achieve a high wave, not a high score. I wanted to share it as after viewing the other videos out there it seems like my strategy here is different and the wave count I reach is quite a bit higher. Most seemed to leverage barricades or archers - I used neither.
This gameplay was recorded in early 2015 and still as of this upload date during fall 2016 it appears no one has topped this wave count when I look at the leaderboard. I was originally going to do voice commentary but I'm lazy so the text below will have to do.
This map is a tough one. You have orcs coming in from every direction and on top of that you have fliers to tackle, also coming from multiple directions. The layout of the map does not really allow you to funnel all enemies to one area so you are constantly under stress and typically find yourself lacking in earning power to keep up with the killing power you require. As you will see my solution to this problem was to focus on delay tactics and not killing power. Through a combo of Spike Walls and Tar Traps I slowed the orcs down enough that I could handle the multi directional attack.
The other main key to this map is how you deal with the flyers. You will find that as the wave counts starts to push past, say 60, flyers become very difficult to kill, and that is regardless of how many traps you throw at them. While I threw some grinders out in the early waves so I could focus my attention elsewhere, the only real solution to them longterm is to leverage something that instantly kills them. So my strategy there was the Ice Amulet and then the Stone Staff for the frostbat which the Ice Amulet will obviously have no effect on. This combo requires manual interaction of course - its not a trap that is on autopilot and you do put yourself at risk of being killed. Your Ice Amulet shots need to be quite accurate and you need to be ready to use the stone staff in the right areas. In the late waves if you screw up your timing you WILL get instantly killed or watch as some fliers get into the rift. If you are playing the sorceress I would imagine you could switch out one of those for the polymorph ring. I have never used it but I assume it can turn fliers.
The video starts with the first few waves and then highlights key later waves as the count increases.
