Lakland Skyline Series basses are primarily manufactured in Indonesia/Korea. While the initial manufacturing of the body and neck occurs overseas, these instruments are shipped to Lakland’s Chicago, USA facility for final assembly, including the installation of Lakland-made electronics, fret leveling using PLEK technology, and final inspection.

IMO the fact it's assembled, and set-up / tweaked by the Lakland luthiers , + the plek machining makes all the difference from the majority of CNC machined instruments from overseas that are often 100% done in their factories.
