My travels took me to an ancient cave with paintings of mermaids, or swallows...

In the middle of the barren Karoo you’ll come across a farm that holds a great secret. From afar you’d never know what hides in the cave.

I made my way over dodgy rocks and through a river that was recently in flood, but it was all worth it as the San paintings never disappoint.

I saw incredible indigenouscreatures, which included a rock hyrax, southern rock agama, ants and a spider.

In the cave you’ll find paintings of: Elephants, springbok, Mermaids and plenty more.

I also talk about the mermaid that washed out with the flood of 1996 in the Oudtshoorn area. A mermaid was caught and kept in the CP Nel Museum as an exhibit. A local clearvoyant could communicate with her and discovered that her name is Eporia and that she stays in Meiringspoort.

Crowds gathered to see the mermaid, but found a mannequin in her place. By then she was already released again into the waterfall.
