The first time I saw a bench like this was in a Studio McGee home tour — and I dreamed of having one of my own. When this bench was gifted to me, I knew exactly what I wanted to create. After two homes and years of love and use, it’s time to reimagine it again.

In this video, I’m sharing the first part of my DIY slipcover transformation. I walk you through how I draped, cut, pinned, and prepped a linen mix fabric in soft brownish-gray tones to give this family-loved bench a whole new life. This piece will sit in our foyer below the stair rail — becoming both a functional spot for daily use and a grounding element in what I call a Healing Space.

This is more than a DIY project. It’s about creating intention in the home, reimagining what we already have, and finding beauty in the process.
