Donkey Kong is one of Nintendo’s flagship franchises. But for about a decade, Nintendo was absolutely LOST on what to do with it. Going from the arcade games to Donkey Kong Country and DK64, they were riding high. But when Microsoft bought Rare, Nintendo was forced to make some truly bizarre games. The Donkey Konga series, Jungle Beat, some weird handheld puzzle games, and an AWFUL racing game. It’s honestly a miracle they bounced back.
