Land Rover Defender OCTA Revealed With 626 Horsepower

Описание: The Land Rover Defender Octa has been unveiled as the most powerful variant of the Defender ever produced. It is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter mild-hybrid V-8 engine that generates an impressive 626 horsepower and up to 590 pound-feet of torque. However, the enhancements go beyond just power; Land Rover has also improved the suspension and design to maximize the vehicle's off-road capabilities.

The Defender Octa is equipped with Land Rover’s 6D Dynamics chassis, which eliminates body pitch and roll while maximizing suspension articulation, resulting in superior off-road performance. The vehicle stands 1.1 inches higher than the standard Defender, with a 2.7-inch wider stance, longer and stronger cross arms, and unique active dampers. Braking is handled by 15.7-inch front brakes with six-piston Brembo calipers, and it features the fastest steering ratio of any Defender to date.

An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard, delivering 553 pound-feet of torque in normal mode. Switching to "Octa" mode unlocks the full 590 pound-feet. Land Rover claims the Octa can accelerate from zero to sixty miles per hour in 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 155 miles per hour, while riding on 22-inch light-alloy wheels with all-season tires. It can also ford up to 3.3 feet of water.

The Defender Octa features specially developed 33-inch Goodyear Advance All-Terrain tires, redesigned bumpers for improved approach and departure angles, and a new grille for increased airflow. The vehicle also boasts quad tailpipes with an active exhaust system, front and rear recovery points, and underbody protection.

Inside, the Octa comes with new Performance seats that offer greater support and integrated headrests, featuring Land Rover’s Body and Soul Seat audio technology for the first time. The standard interior is Burnt Sienna semi-aniline leather with ebony Kvadrat fabric, but customers can choose a Light Cloud and Lunar or ebony leather interior. The Octa Edition One offers two-tone khaki and ebony seat upholstery.

Every Octa is adorned with a new diamond circled graphic, contrasting Narvik Black roof and tailgate, and two new exterior colors—Petra Copper and Faroe Green—alongside Carpathian Grey and Charente Grey. The Edition One features carbon fiber details and 20-inch alloy wheels with an Advanced All-Terrain tire option.

The Defender Octa, named after the diamond’s octahedral shape, will make its public debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed from July 11-14. Land Rover is now accepting orders for this powerful SUV, with a starting price of $152,000. The special Edition One will be available for $167,800.
