Arboreal snakes and semi arboreal snakes make amazing pets and ad a little bit of a different perspective for viewing your pet snake. These species are usually a bit thinner and have long strike ranges, but not always. Some great arboreal snake options are the Reticulated Python, well retics are semi arboreal, especially when young snakes, just hatchlings out of the snake egg. But even adult reticulate pythons will spend time in the trees and on perches high off the enclosure substrate. These are obviously giant snakes. If you're looking for a small arboreal snake maybe a smooth green snake or rough green snake are right for you. These North American green snakes are very cool to watch and super tiny snakes. Perhaps you want a medium sized and beautiful snake with lots of morphs and sub species. Well then a carpet python might be right for you. these are Australian snakes and are very common in the reptile hobby. Carpet pythons can be large or medium sized depending on locality and species but all of them look stunning! Maybe you want something a bit thicker for a snake pet? Boa Constrictors come in many morphs, sizes, localities but all Common Boas will be semi arboreal and spend time in trees when allowed to. Boas are amazing pets and can get really large for an arboreal snake or semi arboreal snake. BCI boa constrictors or BCC boa constrictors both make great pets and are great handling snakes too! Lastly, the smallest python in the world. Antaresia, specifically the Spotted Python is an amazing snake species, a great pet snake option and I think the best size for a pet snake. Childrens Pythons, Stimsons Pythons, Anthill Pythons or Pygmy Pythons and Spotted Pythons all have amazing temperaments, great colour and pattern and are great reptile pet options!
