Step behind the scenes of a busy early-morning operation on our OO gauge layout as two classic locomotives work together to prepare the prestigious express to London.
In this video, a Bachmann 32-231B LMS Fowler 3F “Jinty” 47406 in BR Early Emblem takes charge of assembling the coaching stock. With the set of coaches split across two sidings, 47406 carefully draws them together and forms the complete rake ready for departure.
Watching on from the headshunt is the impressive Hornby R2432A Castle Class 4-6-0 No. 7005 “Sir Edward Elgar” in BR Green, a limited-edition release for Hereford Models. Once the Jinty has positioned the stock on the relief line and returned to the depot, 7005 eases forward to take charge of the train.
With the consist complete, “Sir Edward Elgar” moves confidently onto the main line and leads the Cathedrals Express on its morning run to London, showing off both elegance and power in true Great Western style.
