Pentacam interpretation is crucial for Keratoconus patients and any kind misinterpretation according to a wrong referance will change the decision of treatment to the patient like in LASIK,Femtolasik,Femtosmile ,Prk and cross-linking and Keratoconus ..so, we have mainly two refrances BFS (Best fit sphere )and BFTE (Best fit toric ellipsoid).
So, when should we use this or this?
Simply
if the corneal astigmatism is less than 2.5D astigmatism use BFS as a refrance .
If the corneal astigmatism is greater than 2.5 D astigmatism use BFTE as a referance.
