The jaunty looping piano chords at the start “Elastica” are familiar, as this track sees Ilija offering a sunny jazz rework of “Deep Sensation” from Tears to Sound. The intro is more colorful, riding on hip vibes and playful percussion, and that excellent twangy bass line is still here, only now sitting aside more active and vibin’ drum work. It still has a housey pulse, but less club and more Moody or Theo. And the organ soloing is perfect, adding some playful sunshine to the proceedings. It’s the same spirit as “Deep Sensation”, just more adventurous, maximal, and whimsical.
