Iceland is a land of contrasts, it is a country of immense natural beauty. From its towering mountains to its vast volcanic plains, and nowhere is this more apparent than in its waterfalls.

While travelling to Highlands, make sure you have 4WD vehicle when you travel to Highlands, stick on the F-raods, and avoid Off-roads, though the whole country is photogenic and places might be appealing for you to go and see, but it is prohibited to drive off-roads and the penalties/fines are extremely high. Having 4WD vehicle allows you to go and witness some breathtaking landscapes and especially going on F-roads that are open only for certain period of time.

When you are on a hike, make sure you watch the trails very closely, we missed one turn and ended up at opposite side of the canyon we were going to, it was supposed to take us 35 minutes, and we spent over 4 hours. Though it was bit longer than we expected but no regrets at all, as we saw some absolutely stunning landscapes on the way.

It is strongly advised to have guided tour when going on/hiking glaciers, have proper gears. If you want to go on your own, do not go too far, just stand on it after making sure it is safe to do so, take videos and pictures, make memories. The signboards "Go close at your own risk" are placed. There are two MAIN glaciers in Iceland where you can go hiking: Sólheimajökull glacier and Vatnajökull glacier.

All the shots were recorded with manual settings, and I used different ND-filters for different shots.
