"Can't Take My Eyes Off You", written by Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio, was a 1967 single by Frankie Valli. This song was among Valli's biggest solo hits, reaching #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning a gold record. This song was Valli's biggest "solo" hit until it was beat by Valli's "My Eyes Adored You" in 1974. This song went to #1. Record Producer, Paul Drew did not warm to "Can't Take My Eyes Of You" at first, but he accepted an invitation to hear it live at the Roostertail, where Valli was performing a weeklong stint with the Four Seasons. Bob Gaudio recalled that Drew liked what he heard live both from Valli AND from the audience applause. He then added this song to his station's playlist. Suddenly, the switchboards lit up, and the rest, as they say, is history!

NOTE: To this very day Bob Gaudio and Frankie Valli (Both part of the original Four Seasons Group) own all the rights together and proceeds (50/50) that both have contributed over the past six decades based ON A HANDSHAKE! This probably will never happen again in the history of music.
