For Loro Parque Fundación the welfare of the animals is extremely important, this is why we try to encourage breeding with parents, especially if it involves birds that will be reintroduced to the natural habitat with the idea of repopulating certain endangered species. By breeding in this way the birds develop stronger muscles, discover the best way to break nuts and food and learn better how to fly.
Although parents are not always in a good condition to carry out this type of breeding, at Loro Parque we are proud to discover that 70% of the chicks have been reared with their parents and are gradually becoming strong and intelligent birds.
