Описание: This is a radio controlled model of a Galway Hooker, based on the "Morning Star" of 1892. The model is plank on 5 part sawn frames and caulked with putty, not glued. 5 channels: mainsail, jib, port and starboard staysail sheets, plus the rudder. Sails are cotton cambric and heavily treated. 2 mainsails are used: the big one can take the 1st reef, and the smaller one starts at the 2nd reef and the 3rd reef can be taken without too much bunching. Thus the mainsail area can be cut down by about 40% for brisker breezes. For a period model, this boat is fast and close winded, and manoeuvres very easily, rather like the originals it has sought to mimic. I hope you enjoy the video.
