Описание: As we focus on the Social-Emotional Development of our children through some of our Kindermusik units, it is helpful to step back and get a big picture view of HOW our brain works, and how that relates to an emotional crisis cycle, for our child... and for ourselves.

This presentation by Ms Debbie of Music Connections in Lakeland, FL includes information that has been gathered through her ongoing education (BS in Music Therapy & Psychology, Kindermusik International, and the two Programs listed below) and through her experience in trying to make these concepts work in real time with children (so much harder than it initially seems, esp. at first!). This presentation is simply providing a BASIC introduction so we can have a baseline of understanding of these concepts to have conversations and share ideas.

MANDT Crisis System: In the 1990s, as a manager of a group home for adults with disabilities, I was able to go through this training, and become a trainer for others in this system which helps care providers understand how to best avoid, reduce and respond to dangerous emotional crisis situations. This crisis cycle perspective really laid a foundation for me to understand everything else I learned after that, and these graphics are amazing visuals that can help these very abstract concepts of emotional upheavals become more concrete for us to understand. I appreciate them giving me permission to use these graphics. In talking with them, they shared they have a new online program specifically for parents, but I have not gone through that training yet. I'm up for it if you are.
