​NIGLOK – A tense standoff has broken out in East Siang as local villagers refused to let trucks enter the M/s Aether Alloys LLP silicon factory, even after a high court told the government to clear the way.

​The conflict reached a peak this morning when the local administration tried to escort a line of heavy trucks carrying materials into the Industrial Growth Centre in Niglok.

However, the convoy was forced to stop at Ruksin when a large crowd of angry residents blocked the entire road, refusing to let them pass.
