In a quiet desert corner of the American Southwest, local talk radio station K-RAP struggles to survive as its ratings and finances decline. When ambitious Los Angeles radio personality Jack Proctor arrives to shake things up, he clashes with the station’s respected host Lauren, whose relationship advice show has long been the heart of the community. Their on-air rivalry unexpectedly boosts listener interest, turning their personal tension into the station’s biggest attraction.

Determined to prove he understands love better than Lauren, Jack launches a bold live promotion, promising to help the county’s “biggest loser” find romance. The chosen participant, the awkward and shy Lyle Grincher, soon becomes the center of a growing media spectacle as Jack’s advice begins to work — perhaps too well — when Lyle sets his sights on Lauren herself. As ratings soar and emotions intensify, both Jack and Lauren are forced to confront what winning truly means, and whether real love can exist beyond pride and competition.
