In that moment, they all find their resolve again, knowing that even if their time has come, they are not alone. They stand together, fighting for what is right. For the Emperor. For humanity.

The original phrase “La Garde meurt mais ne se rend pas!” (“The Guard dies but does not surrender!”), usually attributed to General Pierre Cambronne, really struck me when I first read it. My immediate reaction was, “This feels incredibly Imperial Guard”, and that’s how we ended up here.
